We’ve got some amazing new attractions lined up for the 2025 show—stay tuned for all the exciting details! In the meantime, check out some of our classic crowd-pleasers below.
Paddock to Plate – Bream Creek Dairy
For this year’s show our Paddock to Plate stage is set to feature a diverse mix of local producers, cooks, butchers and more as they highlight the region and the incredible things that they do. In these sessions you’ll see live demonstrations and hear from the experts who will share what it takes to create world class, Tasmanian products.
One session that we know will be a crowd favourite, is from long-time supporters of our show, The Bream Creek Dairy.
At this generational family farm, sixty years of careful breeding has resulted in gentle natured Holstein Fresian cows.
Jack will discuss the history behind the award winning ‘dairy by the sea’ and the finer points of quality milk and cheese production.
Blunnie Toss
What will your technique be, underarm or overarm? Win yourself a new pair of boots thanks to @Blundstone in our ever popular ‘Blunnie toss’!
From 11am there’ll be under 16 boy & girl heats, then our 16+ men & women will try their arm at getting a boot the furthest down our main arena. Be sure to get practicing now and we’ll see you on show day!
Animal Nursery
Featuring all the friendly animals that children love (and many more), our animal nursey is sure to make the whole family smile.
It’s an opportunity for people of all ages to get close and cuddly with rural animals. They may even let you take a quick selfie!
Operating all day, in our large undercover area, it’s a must visit come show day!
Woodchopping
That’s the game plan for our competitors in the 300mm Tree Felling Tasmanian State Championships, taking place on our main arena at 1 and 2pm.
We’ve got this and a full day of competitive woodchopping for you to enjoy as part of our huge program. Animals, Poultry, Reptiles:
All types of young animals can be found in the Animal Nursery, while in the rear section of the showground you might find sheep dogs working on sheep and cattle exhibits that are part of a competition. On the main arena there may be bullock driving or draught horse racing. Some years have had snake wrangling and performing dogs. There is usually a guess the weight of a rooster competition and guess the weight of the steer.
The Wool Pavilion:
Visiting the wool pavilion allows patrons to view champion fleeces and watch experts from the spinners and weavers guild spinning fleeces into wool as well as demonstrations of shearing, using both electrical shears and the old hand shears of yesteryear. The Jack Smith Working Models, originally part of the Copping Museum, are now a permanent feature in the wool pavilion.
