Frank Finger
This year we are thrilled to be welcoming Frank Finger back to the Bream Creek Show! Frank first joined us in 2023 and when we decided to theme our Show around working dogs, we thought who better to be our offical opener than Frank Finger! You’ll be able to chat to Frank at the ABC tent next to the Belvedere.
Pandara Kelpies
Bream Creek crowd favourites, Matt and the Pandara Kelpies will present small yard‑work demonstrations across the day, showcasing the control and capability of their working dogs. At select times they’ll move to the main arena, delivering larger‑scale displays that highlight the precision and discipline of well‑trained kelpies in action.
Hobart Dog Training Club
Hobart Dog Training Club are a non-profit, volunteer run organisation that offer classes in a range of dog sports and general obedience. They use positive training methods to build relationships between dogs and their owners. Today they will be doing an interactive sniffer dog display!
Guide Dogs
Guide Dogs Tasmania depends on community support to deliver these transformative services to Tasmanians in need. They are currently seeking new homes to nurture future assistance dogs – could you be the next special caregiver? Discover more at the Guide Dogs stall!
Blunnie Toss
What will your technique be, underarm or overarm? Win yourself a new pair of boots thanks to Blundstone in our ever popular ‘Blunnie toss’!
Animal Nursery
Step into our Animal Nursery, where children and adults alike can meet and interact with a wide variety of friendly animals – many of which are sure to bring a smile to your face! It’s the perfect place to get up close with adorable rural animals, and who knows, you might even be lucky enough to snap a quick selfie with one of our furry or feathered friends!
At the Animal Nursery, you’ll find all sorts of young animals to cuddle and enjoy. And, if you head towards the back of the showground, you can watch skilled sheepdogs in action, as well as explore the exciting cattle exhibits, which are part of a thrilling competition. Over in the main arena, past events have featured everything from snake wrangling to incredible performing dogs. There’s even the popular Guess the Weight competition for a rooster and a bull – who will guess right?
Open all day in our large, undercover area, the Animal Nursery is a must-see attraction on show day. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled, family-friendly experience!
Woodchopping
The Bendigo Bank World Title Tree Felling Championship headlines the 2026 Bream Creek Show woodchopping program, with fierce competition from athletes travelling across Australia and abroad – including Canada’s 16‑time world title holder Mitchell Hewett, Tasmania’s current world champion Daniel Gurr, and former world title holder Matthew Gurr. Competitors race up a four‑metre pole by chopping pockets, setting their springboards, and climbing to the top to make their first cuts before climbing back down, resetting on the opposite side, and powering through the final block. You may even get the chance to talk to Tassie legend David Foster OAM!
The Wool Pavilion
Visiting the wool pavilion allows patrons to view champion fleeces and watch experts from the spinners and weavers guild spinning fleeces into wool as well as demonstrations of shearing, using both electrical shears and the old hand shears of yesteryear. The Jack Smith Working Models, originally part of the Copping Museum, are now a permanent feature in the wool pavilion.
